The home I'm showing here is a recent project I completed in Auckland. It's a large waterfront family home across a double inner city harbour site. It was built by my company, Bannan Construction. Cast in-situ concrete walls are featured throughout the three-level home.
All the concrete forms in this family home are finished with a rough-sawn horizontal board pattern. Some external concrete walls included insulation.
The house negotiates a path from the street to the harbour edge weaving around the ponds then eventually emerges to a harbour infinity-edged pool. Along this journey you are led by in-situ-cast concrete walls and cedar forms. The entrance takes us through an existing native grove, then to an arrival gallery that steps down to the great hall then onto a coastal ledge that finally reveals the grand scale and drama of the property.
