Renovated master suite with exposed brick fireplace, contemporary cabinets

A compressed ceiling at the entry to this bathroom gives way to a light-filled void above the shower, created by a long light shaft. Large-format light grey tiles were specified for most of the walls and the floor. The end wall of the shower features small-format subway tiles in white. These define the light shaft, enhancing the vertical nature of the space. The design is by architect Chris Holmes of CAAHT Studio Architects.
