Wallpaper gives this powder room visual impact
The brief to the designer of this powder room was two fold – make it girly and give it the wow factor.
Designer Ria Gleeson of Burning Red Design says the colourful floral Osborne & Little wallpaper provided the starting point for the interior.
"Rather than simply have the wallpaper on the walls, we ran it across the ceiling and along the top of the walls at picture rail height. It's a look we often use on hospitality projects," she says.
The visual drama of the ceiling is reinforced by a sparkling contemporary light fitting, a circular red floor rug, high-gloss red wall tiles and black floor tiles.
Light-grey wall tiles add a subdued touch, and complement the grey CaesarStone cantilevered vanity top.
The whimsical approach can also be seen in the Franklin Bean basin and the ornate white-painted mirror frame.
"We added a touch of bling with a diamante handle on the vanity drawer," says the designer. "The small details enhance the sense of something special."
