Tesla's new roadster, set to hit the road in 2020, features record-setting acceleration, range and performance.

Tesla's new Roadster

As far as companies go, Tesla is certainly one focused on changing the world. The energy company has launched multiple electric vehicles, solar panel products and energy storage systems. Oh, they're also building the world's biggest building (by floor area) in the Nevada desert.

It's no surprise their latest car, the Tesla Roadster, is another revolutionary product. The electric vehicle boasts a 0-100km/h speed of 1.9 seconds, a range of 1000km and a top speed above 250km/h. For New Zealanders, that's enough electric juice to make it to Wellington – and nearly make it back!

Just check out this list of impressive stats:

From Tesla:

Performance and aero efficiency

As an all-electric supercar, the Roadster maximises the potential of aerodynamic engineering—with record-setting performance and efficiency.

The first supercar to set every performance record and still fit seating for four.

Glass roof

A lightweight, removable Glass Roof stores in the trunk for an open-air, convertible driving experience.
