Beko takes off in New Zealand
Smart features, sleek styling and competitive pricing are all vital considerations when looking for your new refrigerator, dishwasher or oven. A newly arrived brand that ticks all these boxes and already enjoys mass appeal in England and mainland Europe presents a compelling option.
Recognised as one of the top ten whitegood brands in the world, Beko is now set to become a household name in New Zealand. The company takes pride in its recognised trademark qualities of functional design, energy efficiency, build quality, reliability and value, says Paul Reeves general manager, sales & marketing, Australasia.
"We've researched, listened and responded to the needs of New Zealand consumers, and we are confident of becoming a major brand here," says Reeves. "Design has always been a cornerstone for Beko and European styling is already very popular in this part of the world.
"Beko is introducing a selection of more than 60 advanced refrigeration, cooking, dishwashing and laundry products into the market."
Besides good looks and solid construction, Beko is up with the play in terms of technology. Everything from electronic temperature control in ovens to smart programs that save time and power bills are featured in these collections.
Beko is a subsidiary of Arçelik. Established in 1955, Arçelik is one of the largest household appliance producers in Europe. This company is also the leading home appliances brand in Turkey – offering extensive ranges of consumer electronics as well as freestanding and built-in appliances. Today Arçelik provides products to consumers in over 100 countries.
"Beko recognises that the New Zealand market has stable economic strength and as such offers a positive anchor for its expanding global footprint," says Reeves. "It officially launched national business operations in New Zealand and Australia earlier this year."
With selected products already available, the full New Zealand range of Beko appliances will be on offer this year through an variety of retailing stores, including Kitchen Things, Smith City, 100% Electrical and The Appliance Shed.
