The Bonus Saver account, for example, rewards customers who save regularly and do not touch their savings, with tier-base and bonus interest.
"Bonus Saver is a great way to save for that new kitchen, lounge suite or minor room extension. My customers like the fact that we recognise them for saving money on a regular basis and not making any withdrawals," says Daly. "And they say they're more likely to think twice about dipping into their funds if they stand to lose that extra interest."
Daly says if you simply can't wait to get on with your interior decorating project, you may want to consider a Westpac home-loan top-up.
"Anyone who has a Westpac home loan and some equity in their house can apply for a top-up of up to $30,000 to carry out home improvements."
One of the advantages is that no formal application is required. However, lending criteria apply and an establishment fee may apply.
