Being close to the heart of the action is an advantage for any company, even with modern communications technology. For Heritage Tiles, a move from Penrose to Parnell places the company closer to the city and provides an opportunity to better showcase its product.

Heritage Tiles has opened a new commercial showroom and a retail outlet in the newly refurbished "g" building (see pages 82–87). Commercial manager Stacey Johnston-Smale says the company, which has been established for more than 20 years, has experienced a rapid growth in the commercial sector.

"Major Auckland projects completed include the War Memorial Museum and the Art Deco refit of the MLC building," she says. "Current projects include the Scene apartment complex and Vodafone premises and we are working with architects on many specifications and tenders."
