Design-and-build homes that offer individuality and innovation are the specialty of David Reid Homes
Achieving one national finalist placing in the Master Builder House of the Year competition is a major feat for any company. Having three national finalists in one year makes the success even more exciting for David Reid Homes. David Reid says he believes this is the first time a company has achieved that feat.
"The national recognition we are receiving is not just due to our highly qualified teams of builders and sub-contractors, it is also a result of hand-selecting our suppliers," he says.
"Our key suppliers are integral to maintaining the high standards of David Reid Homes, and are carefully selected for their ability to deliver consistent quality in their products and services. Our suppliers, our builders and our subcontractors are all part of an important family. We work as a team to support our company's philosophy – that only the best will do."
The Wanaka home shown on these pages is one of the homes to make the national finals of the House of the Year competition. The house features a combination of natural schist and cedar on the exterior. These materials help to visually link the home to the rugged mountain setting.
Other features of the home include a heavy, wood lintel above a large picture window, and a schist barbecue, chimney and hearth.
