Point of difference – projects by Celia Visser Design

It often takes a designer's eye to truly see the possibilities for a new kitchen or bathroom – the effect of certain materials, colours and layouts.

The projects featured here are both by award-winning designer Celia Visser CKD/CBDNZ, PDINZ, who says she always likes to reflect the unique personal style of her clients in her work.

Visser's projects are also defined by her attention to detail, which gives her designs an innovative edge – a factor recognised in the numerous kitchen and bathroom industry awards she has won.

For example, the bathroom shown above was Best Bathroom Design Supreme Winner in the 2011 NKBA Kitchen & Bathroom Awards. The judges praised the way Visser was able to overcome space constraints and use textural contrasts to create an inviting ambience.

The kitchen on the facing page, another eye-catching project from Visser, is one of the Trends Top 30 Kitchens for 2012. The rich Urbane Teak wood veneer has a rough, tactile surface that contrasts with the smooth stainless steel and black acrylic panels.
