The design of a vast manufacturing facility built five years ago has proved so successful that Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Corporation chose to repeat the formula for their latest project
The computer age may be upon us, but the need for efficient office storage that is easy to access is just as great as ever. For the new Fisher & Paykel Healthcare building, Lundia Shelving was contracted to provide a convenient space-saving storage solution in which all shelves could be instantly adjusted without the need for tools.
Lundia managing director Monte Stone says the company was able to tailor standard modules from its extensive shelving range to suit the space.
Both mechanically assisted and manual mobile shelving systems were specified. Stone says the Lundia Rotadrive is designed to make the heaviest and most demanding storage easy to access.
"Being a mechanically assisted system, it enables the user to effortlessly move fully loaded shelves. One drive shaft connects the roller bearings under each pair of upright frames, ensuring accurate traction and a very smooth, quiet movement."
Both the mobile systems feature Dove Grey Melteca exterior panels, chosen for their good looks and durability. The adjustable, solid timber shelves were coated in clear UV lacquer for durability and ease of maintenance.
Lundia shelving has the added benefit of being an environmentally friendly product made from renewable resources – even waste products are recycled.
