Solid concrete floors can become an eye-catching and innovative flooring solution when they're given a shine by Polished Concrete

High shine

In a commercial situation, most floors are subjected to a fair amount of wear and tear – mainly from foot traffic. In bars and restaurants, spilled food and drinks can be added to the mix.

Concrete floors are well-known to be hardwearing and stain-resistant and, with a little extra design input, the result can be dazzling. Polished Concrete has more than eight years' experience in polishing concrete floors in projects ranging from large commercial fitouts to private homes.

Polished Concrete company owner Jason Torbet says concrete can be mixed with a myriad of other materials such as stones, pebbles, coloured oxides, glass, shells and marble to create a variety of effects for the floor.

"We are happy to work with architects and specifiers on a consultancy basis from the beginning of a project to help work out the best mix and finish for the job. As well as the concrete mix, specialist coatings and decorative cuts add to the eye-catching design possibilities," he says.

Polished Concrete can take a project from the beginning, help with the design and supply of sub-contractors, or can polish a new or existing floor.
