Four distinctive materials fuse into one harmonious design in this lounge suite by Select Furniture
As it takes centre stage in the most public room of the house, the lounge suite is possibly one of your most important purchases. The sofa and matching chairs, coffee and side tables should be designed to match fashion with comfort and durability.
Select Furniture director Philip Lewin says the company's latest lounge suite, Astini, has a combination of four materials in one well-balanced design.
The frame is made from steel for strength and then powdercoated for durability. Woven into the frame, the high-quality wicker is painted black or antique white. Macrosuede cushions offer a stain-resistant luxury and the table tops are made from frosted glass for long-lasting appeal, Lewin says.
Reflecting global design trends, the Astini lounge suite has an international appeal. Inspired by European design, it was created by Select Furniture in Auckland and manufactured in China.
"We have drawn the best from all over the world," Lewin says.
Functionality has also been a key consideration in the Astini's design. Both the coffee and side tables contain at least two surfaces for storing magazines, books and other items that can clutter the lounge.
