To meet the rapidly changing needs of the local community, this NSW shopping centre has undergone a major upgrade

Community spirit

Shopping centres work best when their design and facilities cater to and reflect the lifestyle of the community they service.

To keep pace with the needs of the city of Gosford on the NSW Central Coast, the region's largest shopping centre, Erina Fair, has undergone two upgrades. The most recent, a $210 million redevelopment by Lend Lease, saw the centre grow from 68,000m2 to 106,000m2, with the addition of 130 new specialty stores, an ice-skating rink, health club, library, community facilities, medical centre and multi-level carpark.

The expansion also involved the creation of several distinct precincts, including The Atrium food court, The Market, and The Hive, which features retail, leisure and green space suitable for exhibitions and community activities.

Like all Lend Lease-managed centres, Erina Fair is designed to suit the needs of the local community and reflects the area's relaxed, coastal feel. Lend Lease hopes it will become a leading community, entertainment and shopping space that redefines the role of the traditional shopping centre.
