The realisation of a joint-venture concept between a design firm and a building industry educator is widening the scope of how we do business
Two or more companies getting together to share resources doesn't just make economic and environmental sense. Such an alliance, which could include utilising the same office space and sharing resources, allows companies that share the same target market to offer their clients a better, more comprehensive service.
Design firm Yellowfox has now established its new premises in the CMS Future Proof Building Centre in Ellerslie. Although the two companies will be working independently, the proximity will have wider benefits, says Yellowfox design manager Shelley Brockliss.
"CMS works in the building industry educating others on how to future-proof residential and commercial developments. Our new premises are in the future-proof building education centre – an entire building filled with the most up-to-date building options.
"Within the building is the new Yellowfox studio, designed as a hub for the best in interior design. With access to almost every available material, Yellowfox is a one-stop-shop for everything design-related for a new development, private residence or renovation job."
The collaboration between Yellowfox and CMS began when the design firm was commissioned to design the Future Proof Building Centre's interiors.
"The emphasis was put on creating an impressive environment for use by other architects, designers and clients. The colour scheme pushes boundaries and helps create a lively working environment for all staff," says Brockliss.
As part of the new Yellowfox premises, the designers have created a display bathroom and kitchen, both showcasing contemporary design using a range of local and international products.
Yellowfox specialises in providing design services for kitchen, bathroom, laundry, home office and wardrobe projects, along with interior and exterior colour schemes. As well as offering these services, the Yellowfox team will carry out a number of design workshops and seminars in specific areas of interest for its clients at the new studio.
