An experienced company that would deliver a high quality finish was crucial when it came to installing the glass mosaic tiles at the Britomart.

Having successfully completed tiling at a number of large projects, including a major hotel, Tile Systems was in a good position to take on the work, says company director Steve Miles.

"It was a relatively large project, involving approximately 760m² of tiled surfaces and a lot of detailing. The work included creating the horizontal mosaic bands that span the perimeters of the station walls, and popping out random tiles and replacing them with single white-gold ones.

"Attention to detail and close communication with the plasterers was instrumental to achieving a quality finish. So was the fact that we employ a full-time silicone jointing specialist on all major jobs," says Miles.

Specialising in both commercial and residential projects, Tile Systems has a team of 25 permanent staff that includes waterproofing and acoustic tiling experts.
