This Matarangi bach enjoys a prime location right on the beach, so creating good indoor-outdoor flow was a priority
Holidays at the bach are usually a fairly communal affair, with several families and their friends all sharing the same living areas. This can put pressure on the living environment, so it's important to ensure indoor and outdoor living areas are large and as functional as possible, with plenty of outdoor living area available to take the overflow.
Providing enough communal space was important for the owner of this Matarangi bach. When they spoke to Architects Homes about designing their dream holiday home, they specified a large living and dining space that opened up fully to the deck. With the house located in close proximity to the waterfront, indoor-outdoor flow was also an important consideration. It has large decks front and back, and the master bedroom has its own private deck for afternoon escapes.
There is also a sheltered courtyard to escape from the wind if necessary, which provides views of the sea through the house.
Other features are a bunk room for teenage children, a large bathroom, guest room, and master bathroom with ensuite and walk-in wardrobe.
